How to Open ASK AI
You can launch ASK AI from multiple locations in CaseScribe:
The Ask AI button in the header
The Case Summary view
The Filters and Sorts panel
When ASK AI opens, you may see suggested prompts such as drafting a brief or creating an IME letter. These prompts are optional but useful starting points if you are unsure what to ask.
How Filters Affect ASK AI
ASK AI always respects your active filters, regardless of where you open it.
This includes filters such as:
Specific conditions (for example, PTSD or diabetes)
Document types or subtypes
Tags applied to facts
Only the facts that match your current filters are sent to the AI.
No Filters Applied
If no filters are active, ASK AI reviews all available facts in the case.
Reviewing Sources and Verifying Information
Every response generated by ASK AI includes source attribution.

The PDF viewer opens automatically, allowing you to verify the information in context
You can keep the PDF viewer open while using ASK AI, making it easy to read documents and chat with the AI at the same time.

Pin or minimize the chatbot using the control in the upper-right corner
Keep ASK AI visible in a docked view while continuing other work
Resize the chatbot window to match your screen and preferences

Creating Facts from AI Responses
Click the plus (+) icon below an AI response
Select which document the new fact should belong to
Tagging Facts in Bulk
Click the tag icon to automatically apply tags to all facts used in the AI response
This avoids manually tagging individual facts
Starting a New Chat
When you start a new ASK AI chat:
All existing filters are cleared
A fresh context is created for the new conversation
Persistent and Shared Conversations
ASK AI conversations are persistent and shared across the case.
Your chat history remains available even if you close and reopen ASK AI
The same conversation appears no matter where ASK AI is opened
Chats are shared with other users working on the same case
