2026-02-13 Release Notes

Updated yesterday

This update gives you more control over Key Facts, improves AI-powered workflows, and makes the Facts and Chat experience clearer and easier to navigate.

Here’s what’s new:

New: Filter Status Banner in the Facts View

It’s now much easier to see when filters are active.

When you enable Key Facts Only mode:

  • A yellow banner appears showing how many Key Facts you’re viewing

  • A “Show All” button lets you quickly return to all facts

When other filters are applied:

  • A blue banner displays how many facts you're seeing

  • Active filter names are clearly listed

  • If multiple filters are applied, the list is summarized for readability

No more guessing which filters are active.

Improved: Fact Creator Filter Now Shows Real Names and Ask AI

The Fact Creator filter has been upgraded for clarity.

You can now filter facts by:

  • System (document extraction)

  • Ask AI (facts created by AI Chat)

  • Individual user names (e.g., Jane Smith)

This replaces the old generic “User” label and gives you clearer visibility into who created what.

AI Chat Can Now Create or Tag Facts for You

You can now create a fact and apply tags conversationally.

For example:

  • After AI returns or creates facts, you can say,
“Create a fact and tag those as Chad’s research.”

The AI will:

  • Create a fact

  • Apply the tag to the referenced facts

  • Create the tag if it doesn’t already exist

This makes organizing discoveries much faster.

New: Organization Setting to Disable Automatic Key Fact Assignment

Organizations can now choose whether CaseScribe automatically marks extracted facts as Key Facts.

If enabled, newly extracted facts will:

  • Start with no Key Facts selected

  • Allow your team to curate Key Facts manually from a clean slate

This is ideal for firms that prefer full control over which facts are marked as key.

By default, existing behavior remains unchanged unless your organization turns this setting on.

General UI & Workflow Improvements

  • Upload warnings are now more visible and easier to understand, reducing confusion around potential file issues.

  • Fact reference tooltips no longer overlap

  • Unnecessary dots between lines have been removed in ASK AI

  • Multi-line formatting now displays properly

  • Fact selection is now cleared automatically when hiding or deleting facts/documents

  • Bulk Edit panel layout no longer overlaps with the document viewer

  • Grouped Facts now properly show the “Mark as Main Copy” option for nested facts

  • Global Search behavior improved when using Expand All

This update is all about control, clarity, and smoother AI-assisted workflows giving you better visibility into your facts, cleaner chat interactions, and fewer interruptions in your review process.

As always, your feedback continues to shape CaseScribe.
