This release improves how document dates are parsed, enhances in-document search, refines fact exports, and adds automatic updates to UI components after tagging. It also includes changes that improve clarity in client case timelines and ensure consistency when working with highlighted content.
1. Improved Date Labels for Clients and Cases
Client and case timelines now reflect two more types of update activity:
Created: When the case was originally made.
Last File Uploaded: The most recent file upload.
Last Edited: The last time a note, tag, fact, or comment was changed.
Dates display as “X hours ago” if the action occurred today. Otherwise, the full date is shown.
2. Process Filenames Without Dates for VA Slates
Document date parsing now uses a consistent set of rules for both VA and non-VA cases:
The system looks for a wide range of formats, such as YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY, and 5 Mar 2021.
If multiple dates are found in the filename, the oldest one is used.
If no valid date is found, the document date defaults to today (in EST).
3. In-Document Text Search
You can now search extracted text within a single document directly from the PDF viewer:
Matching results are highlighted, counted, and include controls to navigate between them.
If there are no matches, the viewer shows a helpful message.
This makes it easier to find information without switching to the case-wide search.
4. XLSX Export Option Added
A new Export to XLSX option is now available in the Facts tab, with a streamlined format:
Checkbox and Condition columns are removed.
Columns are ordered as: Type → Subtype → Date → Tags → Comments → Fact Text.
Tags, comments, and fact text are word-wrapped for easier reading.
Fixed column widths improve readability in exported files.
5. Auto-Tagging Now Triggers Page Refreshes
To keep facts and filters up to date:
The Facts page now automatically refreshes after auto-tagging completes.
This applies when cases are created, documents are uploaded, or codesheets are added or removed.
Notifications are also shown when filters are updated during these changes.
6. Removed Highlighting from Added Facts
When copying text from search into a fact, any yellow highlight is now removed:
Facts will display only plain text — no residual formatting from the search interface.
This improves consistency and readability in the Facts tab.
